Overview

The Cascade Euphoria Tour originates in Eugene, Oregon. The tour is four days of magnificent road cycling amongst the Cascade Mountains with a final leisurely morning at Belknap Hot Springs. Tour participants should be comfortable road cycling for approximately

5-8 hours per day for four consecutive days. Daily rides range from 58-78 miles, with the most challenging day including over 5,200’ cumulative elevation gain. See some of our favorite moments from this tour in our photo gallery!

Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: Eugene to Blue Pool / McCredie Hot Springs

Meet your guides in the morning for a short group orientation and safety discussion. The journey begins in Eugene and ascends into the Cascade Mountains. Day 1 finishes at Blue Pool Campground. Adjacent to the campground is McCredie Hot Springs, a beautiful undeveloped natural hot spring adjacent to Salt Creek.

Summary: 58 miles (93 km)  |  2,432 ft (741 m) elevation gain.

DAY 3: Lava Lakes to Smith Rock State Park / Skull Hollow Campground

We continue along Cascade Lakes highway with fabulous vistas of the South Sister, Mount Bachelor, Broken Top and Devils Lake. We finish at iconic Smith Rock State Park where there is an opportunity for photos and a short sunset hike.

Summary: 68 miles (110 km)  |  2,906 ft (886 m) elevation gain.

DAY 2: Blue Pool to Lava Lakes

We will take an intentional pause to enjoy the visually stunning Salt Creek Falls in the morning. This is followed by view of Diamond Peak before descending onto the scenic Cascades Lakes highway. The day concludes at the headwaters of the Deschutes River at Little Lava Lakes Campground.

Summary: 66 miles (105 km)  |  5,215 ft (1,590 m) elevation gain.

DAY 4: Skull Hollow Campground to Belknap Hot Springs

We begin in the Central Oregon High Desert and follow a portion of the Sisters to Smith Rock Scenic Bikeway. We will stop for a delicious lunch at Sisters Coffee Company. We then climb back up into the Cascades with a planned stop at Dee Wright Observatory for amazing views of the mountain summits including the North and Middle Sister, Mt. Washington, Mt. Jefferson, and possibly Mt Hood on high visibility days. The day concludes with camping and soaking at Belknap Hot Springs next to eh McKenzie River.

Summary 78 miles (126 km)  |  3,886 ft (1,184 m) elevation gain.

Day 5: Belknap Hot Springs to Eugene

The last day allows for a leisurely morning with ample time to soak in the hot springs and/or hike. Belknap Hot Springs has acres of gardens including the extravagant Secret Garden and access to the McKenzie River trail. The trip finishes with a one-hour drive to return to Eugene. Arrival at the tour origin point is expected between 12 - 1 PM.
